Hear What Audiences Are Saying...

Great at making the topic relevant to Duke students...

Thank you so much for coming out to Duke tonight to speak at our Large Group!  I've already heard a ton of really positive feedback from several of the students who went to Large Group tonight.  It was especially a blessing from God that one of my non-Christian friends came for the first time tonight and told me afterwards that he thought you were great at making the topic relevant to Duke students.

Lizzy Do, Duke University InterVarsity, Large Group Coordinator

Wanting to be the woman God created me to be...

I heard Margot speak this weekend at a retreat, and I was hanging on her every word. Not only is she flat-out hilarious, but she speaks about Jesus in her down-to-earth style. Margot is vulnerable, captivating and passionate. I left the retreat wanting to be the woman God created me to be, not the woman the world tells me I should be. The biblical truths I learned this weekend will impact me forever. I would never miss a chance to hear Margot speak. It’s a gift!

Enthusiasm, creativity, and openness to the Spirit...

Margot speaks and teaches from her heart and in doing so ministered to our hearts. With enthusiasm, creativity, and openness to the Spirit, Margot used her incredible gifts to make our retreat one the best we’ve experienced in over 20 years.

She loved Margot...

I had a preschool Mom stop by this morning to see me and say thank you for inviting her to the conference. She had a fantastic experience and said it was exactly what she needed. She also said that she loved Margot! She told me that if Margot had a church around here she would definitely go!!!

Margaret Lane Brewer, Director of Christian Education, Grace Covenant Church, Virginia Beach VA

An amazing ability to bring scripture to life...

Margot Starbuck has an amazing ability to bring scripture to life. As she teaches on different portions of scripture the words become relevant to the listener. Suddenly, something I’ve known in my head becomes true in my heart.

Traci Hoover, Durham NC Co-Director of Children's Ministries, Blacknall Presbyterian Church, Durham NC

Enjoyed you...

Enjoyed you this past weekend in Montreat.  I nearly peed in my pants a couple of times.  Seriously.

Her artfully presented stories are captivating and full of compassion...

Margot draws from a wealth of theological insight as well as from wisdom gained from her own experience and struggles. Her artfully presented stories are captivating and full of compassion. It was (and I am sure, it will be) a real treat to listen to her.

It was her inflection that bowled me over...

Her clarity of presentation and insight into a passage of Scripture were excellent -- but, that day, for me, it was her inflection that bowled me over. The expression she used in reading a passage of Scripture opened up the meaning to me, and I remember gasping -- not something I usually do just hearing someone read aloud!

Dave Stuntz, Durham NC Minister of Music at Blacknall Presbyterian Church

Realness and passion...

Margot herself has wrestled with God and it is through her own experience that she offers those who hear her a "cup of water" which overflows with truth, freedom, grace and joy. Margot's realness and passion calls forth the lies that keep us in bondage to be replaced with truth thus igniting the fire of the soul to seek after Christ.

Michelle Koeneke, Durham NC

She has had a big impact on my daughter...

My entire family (ages 59, 55, 22 and 19) looks forward to whatever Margot has to bring to our service. She has had a big impact on my daughter, who just finished college, and finds her services easy to follow, applicable to today's social and spiritual concerns. It is with great enthusiasm that I would recommend Margot Starbuck for a speaker to any age group.

Rebecca Kalsbeek, Cary NC

We were all blessed...

[At our school’s memorial service] Margot was able to put into words the paradoxical concepts of life, death, love, and sadness in such a way that young students openly affirmed her words during the service. We were all blessed to be reminded of the hope we have in Christ through Margot's words.

Amy Chauncey, Chapel Hill NC Executive Director of Deerstream Learning Center

Point us to Jesus...

Margot combines an artist's whirling passion to create, a true pastor's strength and voice to proclaim, and a child's honesty, vulnerability, and playfulness all point us to Jesus.
