Coaching
as You Write:

chapter-by-chapter

Margot travels to an author and, for up to eight hours over one or two days, works with the author to identify the book's target reader, understand her need, and identify the author's fresh solution to meet that need.

Together we brainstorm content, outline the book, and create a chapter map to guide the writer when he or she sits  down to write chapters.

Who Benefits? This service is likely for the contracted author--whose expertise may be in another area--who has secured a book contract. It helps this person to hone his or her unique message and organize content to best serve the reader.

Fee: Contact us for more information.

Whether you’re working with a traditional publisher or self-publishing, Margot provides writing feedback, chapter by chapter, as you write. Feedback is akin to a substantive edit, bundled with writing coaching and encouragement.

Who Benefits? This service is for the writer who wants feedback during the writing process

Note: the benefit of this process depends on the writer meeting deadlines and having margin to return to review suggestions. If a writer struggles with time management, this won't be a win. If a contracted writer is working with a publisher, and is not front-loading the writing well before publisher’s deadline, he or she also won’t benefit from the feedback Margot offers.
