When: Before a writer submits her nonfiction book proposal to an agent or publisher


Who: Nonfiction writers who are seeking: representation by a literary agent or a contract with a traditional publisher


Why: To identify areas that can be strenghtened, as well as strategies for improvement, that can take the proposal to the next level

Fee: $150

Wondering if your nonfiction book proposal is ready for the eyes of agents and publishers? This diagnostic identifies the key opportunities for taking the proposal to the next level and offers suggestions for how to execute needed changes. This review focus on the proposal itself--the concept, marketability, platform, etc. 

*Note: sample chapters will be reviewed at a high level. (Detailed editorial feedback is offered in the Comprehensive Proposal Review.)



You'll receive:

1. Notes

You'll receive a document of notes to give you an overview of what Margot's noticing in the proposal.

2. Proposal With Notes

The working proposal document you receive will include specific suggestions to strengthen the proposal, both as tracked changes and offering suggestions as margin notes.

The writer who will benefit from this service is preparing a book proposal to submit to a literary agent or a publishing house.
